The deep troughs and narrow peaks of the Pirin range make beautiful Alpine walking with glacier formed peaks over 2500 meters high.
The Bansko or Dobrinishte chairlifts run through the Summer and take you up to 2200 meters or there are a number of walks easily accessible from the front door of the chalet.
The scenery in the Pirin Range is breath-taking and there are over 140 glacial lakes as well as a number of huts, chalets and refuges which provide food and basic accommodation throughout the year.
Maps are available and the most popular routes are well marked but guides are also available to show you the lesser known trails and to point out some of the rare flora and fauna in the area.
July and August are the warmest months, whilst August and September are the driest months but June offers stunning spring flowers and October sees the leaves begin to change colour which a beautiful time in the mountains.
While the temperatures in Bansko town can reach 40 degrees in Summer (the outdoor pools are very popular), Alpine hiking offers a respite from the heat.
